Disk Union's Shimokitazawa shop is an all-genre floor four minutes' walk from the station, facing Kitazawa Town Hall, carrying records, CDs, books and music goods. The sections run rock and prog, alternative, new wave and punk, noise and avant-garde, heavy metal and hard rock, J-pop, jazz, soul and funk, Brazil, latin and world, reggae, soundtracks and film discs, books and memorabilia, rare t-shirts and equipment, plus new vinyl, CDs, tapes and apparel. It runs in-store events, has its own buying centre for records, CDs and books, and ships mail order. Open 12:00 to 20:00 on weekdays, from 11:00 at weekends and on holidays.
