The 1-2-3-4 Go! label started in Seattle in 2001 and has put out Shannon and the Clams, Nobunny, The Cute Lepers and The Sandwitches among others. The Oakland shop followed in 2008 - the first new record shop in the city in about thirty years, and one of the first in the East Bay in over a decade - in a tiny storefront it outgrew within a year, moving two doors down to somewhere three times the size. Punk first, then indie, garage and hardcore, on record and tape, and the room doubles as a venue and occasionally an art gallery
