Established in 1982, 2nd Avenue Records is a quintessential brick and mortar independent record store in downtown Portland, near the historic Saturday Market, Voodoo Doughnut and Kells Irish Pub. It started in a 600 square foot storefront and now sits three blocks north at 121 SW 2nd Avenue. Stock is primarily new and used records, new releases and classics, with an ample supply of CDs and cassettes across rock, jazz, soul, funk, rap, blues, reggae, 60s, a good supply of metal and punk, and a huge selection of t-shirts. They buy record collections, plus cassettes, CDs and t-shirts; no appointment is necessary to sell, though a phone call in advance helps. Open every day, noon to 5pm.
