Almost Ready was an indie, punk and garage label before it was a shop; Harry Howes and Katherine Ohlweiler opened the Carroll Gardens storefront as what they saw as the natural next step. The range is much wider than the label suggests - rock, punk, soul, blues, funk, hip-hop, garage, Latin, psychedelia, disco, experimental, jazz, classical, house and children's records, new and used LPs and 45s plus cassettes. Hand-painted signage, daylight and a simple layout, and a deliberate effort to be friendly regardless of what you are buying.
