Angel City has been on Pier Avenue since 1998 and describes itself, accurately as far as anyone can tell, as the last independent book and record shop left in Santa Monica. New and used vinyl and CDs sit alongside out-of-print, rare and antiquarian books, first editions and signed copies, with a foreign-language section and music and film DVDs. Six days a week, closed Tuesdays
