Clifford Antone opened his blues club in 1975 and it became the room the whole international blues circuit came through; in 1987 he opened the record shop directly across the street from it, and put the Antone's Records label office in the back, which went on to release more than sixty titles. Antone died in 2006, and three long-serving staff - Mike Buck, Forrest Coppock and Eve Monsees - kept the shop going. It is still in the same building, still weighted to used LPs, 45s and 78s, and still runs in-stores and release parties
