Jo and Mars built Asteroid on La Brea in Inglewood as a third place rather than a shop - new and second-hand records, cassettes and retro clothing on one side, a coffee bar pulling proper espresso with plant-based milk on the other, books and gifts in between, and live shows when there is room. Customers are invited to play their own picks, which is a small thing that tells you what the room is for
