Backspacer opened in Kapitolyo in 2017, named after the Pearl Jam album, and is a shop and a label in equal measure. The label half is the important one: it presses Original Pilipino Music onto vinyl - its own Backspacer Exclusives with Hey June!, Lola Amour, Kitchie Nadal, Mike Hanopol and Clara Benin - and distributes OPM reissues for other local labels, in a country where most of that catalogue had no vinyl edition at all. The racks carry the international releases too, and it will flatten a warped record or vacuum-clean a dirty one for you.
