Two long-time diggers opened Beatnik in March 2015, near the start of Israel's vinyl revival, and it outgrew its first room and moved in September 2022 to a bigger one on Maon in Florentin. About twelve thousand records at prices that do not punish you for browsing, across rock, psych, jazz, blues, soul, funk, reggae, hip-hop, electronic, folk and country - and, the part worth crossing town for, a proper Israeli and Middle Eastern section. Turntables, cartridges and styli too, which is what a shop stocks when it expects you to keep playing them.
