BLK Vinyl opened in May of 2018 at the easternmost end of historic 6th Street in Austin, named for the initials of founders Brookbank, Lough and Kuntz, who worked out they each had far too many records at home. It specialises in used and collectible records, heavy on 60s and 70s pop, psych, garage and prog, with strong 50s and 60s jazz, lounge and exotica and 60s and 70s soul, plus records rescued from the thin vinyl years of the late 90s. Guitar lessons run out of the shop too.
