Blue Beat Record Store in Chatan is a reggae music store first and foremost, and the racking says so: new releases, recent reissues, 7-inch stock, 12-inch and 10-inch stock, LP stock, then used and dead stock split again by size. A non-reggae section covers R&B, jazz and calypso, there is CD and cassette stock, and a whole department for Okinawa and Ryukyu folk music, which is what you would hope for from a shop on this island.
