BPM opened in Derby in 1987, with a logo by the Designers Republic that is as much a part of the city's memory as the shop. Dave Hill and his then business partner Lisa Woolley started it after Hill had sold music since the 1970s and managed several stores including HMV. The shop reopened in 2010, in time for the vinyl renaissance it had outlasted, and it buys and sells second-hand records from Old Blacksmiths Yard off Sadler Gate, paying cash for collections, jazz, blues and funk especially welcome.
