Joel spent over two decades in the music industry, mostly in A&R, then began training as a psychotherapist and started buying and selling records to pay for it. That turned into Brighter Day, which he calls a record shop with a difference. Sellers report that he comes to the house, works through the collection with care, is open about condition and transparent about how he reaches an offer, and pays cash.
