Bucket O'Blood started as a tiny Logan Square storefront run by Marc of Johann's Face Records, and Grant and Jennifer McKee took it over in 2013 when he decided to tour with his band instead. It has been on Elston Avenue in Avondale since August 2015, and it is exactly as specific as the name suggests: science fiction, fantasy and horror fiction on one side, new and used vinyl, tapes, VHS, horror films and shirts on the other, weighted to punk and metal. Sixteen years in business overall. In July 2026 the McKees announced the Avondale shop closes in November - a leaking roof, water damage and mould, years of it - but were explicit that it is not the end of Bucket O'Blood
