Calypso was a book and record shop in the Cloppenburg pedestrian zone from 1988 to 2008. When the lease ran out, its owners moved the whole stock into a building put up next to their own house and have sold vinyl, music literature, classic-car books and antiquarian motoring magazines from what amounts to a farm shop ever since, direct to the same customers. Jazz is the declared focus. The reasoning is plain: even in the internet age, nothing beats dealing with someone face to face.
