Curtis is an audiophile cafe and record shop in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample, run by Guille de Juan in collaboration with Salvadiscos and built around one thing: good sound. A big DJ booth greets you at the door, the walls carry crates of carefully picked records to listen to or to buy, and an adjoining area has two listening points with turntables, headphones and a work bench with power. At the back there is a small reading lounge stocked with music books and magazines, and outside there are tables on Carrer de Mallorca and a quiet beer-garden terrace. Weekly sessions from Spanish and international DJs, cocktails, snacks and vermut.
