Emu Lehtinen, Pertti Lehto and Tiina Ruolanne opened Digelius in 1971. Lehtinen - Ilkka by birth, Emu to everyone, after a childhood spent birdwatching - had meant to be an architect and instead took a job in a Helsinki record shop in 1970.
