Discland JARO opened in 1973 and deals in jazz and effectively nothing else - around eight thousand titles running from classic modern jazz out into the more obscure corners, plus fifties and sixties originals and newer Japanese releases. It is a small underground room a short walk from the Hachiko crossing, with the records arranged around the till so closely that people describe it as climbing into the shelves.
