Disco d'Oro opened on Via Galliera in 1976 to bring new music culture to Bologna, and it did it by becoming the meeting place for the city's punk and no-wave crowd - the cartoonist Andrea Pazienza and the band Skiantos among its regulars, which in seventies Bologna is about as countercultural a clientele as a shop could keep. It is still there, deep in used, reissue and new vinyl and CDs, weighted to electronic, rock and black music, with staff who know every shelf
