Disco Shop Mondadori Bookstore is a Poggibonsi institution that opened its doors in 1976. In January 1987 four friends who were running a private radio station, Radio Alfredo, and who happened to be the shop's biggest customers, took the business over. The atmosphere of friendship and shared obsession with music and reading is what sets it apart from the colder feel of a franchise. Its 300 square metres of floor space make it the largest bookshop in the province, and alongside the books the shop handles retail and wholesale sales of compact discs, DVDs and vinyl across every genre. Staff will chase down and order anything not on the shelves.
