Disk Union has been trading since 1967 and runs a network of shops across Shinjuku, Ochanomizu and Shibuya, plus Osaka since 2015. Shinjuku is the flagship and it is organised unlike anywhere else: eight floors, each given over to a genre, holding somewhere in the hundreds of thousands of new and used records and CDs between them. You do not browse Disk Union so much as pick a floor. This one is kayokyoku, the older strain of Japanese popular song.
