A record department inside a monument. The old warehouse de Kaashandel at Voorhaven 129 took on a new purpose on 1 January 2021, and its ground and first floors now hold a shop mixing unusual original gifts and gadgets with vinyl and turntables. The record side spans both storeys: second-hand LPs and CDs plus a broad run of new vinyl, and they will order in any LP or CD you cannot find, with fast delivery. Mees Store joined in November 2024, and the building also houses the Stadsbarbier, a music studio, publisher LM Publishers and a fashion school. The name is a wink at the Dwarse Edammer, going against the current, and the founders wear it as a badge.
