Eclipse Records first opened on Grand Avenue in 1999 as a CD shop, used record store and all-ages music venue, and has since got older and wiser, ditched the CDs and settled downtown at 419 Wabasha St, round the corner from the Palace Theatre. It is all vinyl now: new records, high-quality used, 45s, boxed sets, collectibles, special editions and limited releases, with no specialty genre and space enough to discover rather than dig. Sat in the Entertainment District, it is not unusual to catch a performer browsing, or signing an LP for the Eclipse Autograph Wall, after soundcheck.
