The ECM Musicstore in the Baltic resort of Ahrenshoop is something almost nobody else attempts: a shop built around a single label. Hagen Hansen sells and presents the productions of ECM Records, the Munich label whose recording quality and sensibility set the standard for European jazz and contemporary music, and whose founder Manfred Eicher has been honoured by musicians and critics for decades. The shop also programmes events, including the Ahrenshoop chamber music days.
