El Lokal has been a libertarian corner of the Raval since 1987, part shop and part meeting point for Barcelona's social movements. The botiga runs to music, books, magazines, clothing and assorted other things, and the rest of the place is given over to the neighbourhood: an agenda of gigs and events, the Raval's alternative fiestas with their punk bills, Radio El Lokal, and a mutual-aid stock of PA gear, speakers and generators lent out to campaigns that need them.
