The family behind Elevation has been in the Dublin record trade since 1954, when Jimmy Murray opened Murray's Record Centre on Little Strand Street - which, if you count the lineage rather than the signage, makes it one of the oldest record businesses in the city. The name and address have changed over seventy years; the current shop, as Elevation Music Movies Comics, opened on Johnson Place on 1 July 2023. Listed with its 1954 origin because the family's record-selling has been continuous, but plainly: this is a lineage, not one unbroken shopfront
