Espai Xocolat in Palma is a specialist record shop founded in 1980 that turned into rather more than a shop. In 1982 it created the Blau label, which now has a catalogue of over 800 titles and more than 200 artists, and in 1987 it helped start Discmedi in Barcelona, which has issued thousands of references across every genre. For decades it has also promoted concerts, many at the Auditorium in Palma, where it brought in Ella Fitzgerald, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett and Van Morrison seven times. The shop itself carries a wide selection of CDs and an extensive vinyl collection in all styles, plus the Espai Xocolat room for events and recitals.
