Everyday Music opened in Portland in the mid-nineties and grew into a small Pacific Northwest chain with shops in Seattle, Bellingham and across Portland. Those have gone; what remains is the West Burnside shop, run by owners who live in the city and work in it, holding what is generally reckoned the largest vinyl selection in Portland alongside CDs and DVDs. It has downsized into one side of its own building, which is the honest shape of the trade now
