Exiled Records started on Southeast Hawthorne in 2007 under Scott Simmons, and Brian Snawder took it over in May 2019. A second shop opened on Southwest Canyon Road in March 2022, and it turned out to be the survivor: the Hawthorne shop closed after fifteen years, beaten by repeated break-ins and a collapse in passing trade. What is here now is thousands of new and used records, CDs and cassettes alongside turntables and hi-fi, with about forty years of combined experience behind the counter
