Gary Prail and Cheryl Marshall opened Fac1968 on St James's Street in 2024, taking the name from Factory Records' catalogue numbering - which tells you the taste before you get through the door. A new shop rather than a survivor, and worth recording as such: Nottingham gained three record shops between 2023 and 2024, which is not the direction the high street is usually described as going.
