FeeLit Records at 909 E Street in downtown San Diego features thousands of vinyl records, new and used, from all genres, with a smaller selection of new and used CDs and cassette tapes and plenty of local musicians, artists and labels on all three formats. Out-of-stock titles are special ordered and usually arrive within a week. Rock, punk, blues, country, jazz, soundtracks, library records, world, hip-hop, soul, funk, disco, house and techno all get bins, and the DJ corner runs to portable turntable faders from Jesse Dean Designs, Raiden and mixfader plus 7-inch, 10-inch and 12-inch battle scratch vinyl and slipmats. Owner Markalan built it as a communal space for local musicians, artists and designers, and says the community has grown over the past fifteen years through exhibitions, receptions and in-store performances.
