Founded in 2022 by cultural archivist and publisher Riley Fitzgerald, Glitter Records works out of California Lane in Fortitude Valley and treats retail and archiving as the same job. The racks run through vinyl LPs, 7-inch and 12-inch singles, shellacs, cassettes, CDs and DVDs, with books, magazines and trading cards alongside. An off-site archive cares for more than 70,000 vinyl records, CDs, cassettes and shellac recordings, and the shop buys vinyl and CDs and takes donated collections.
