Ed Rooney had wanted his own record shop for twenty-four years, and on 11 December 2023 he opened one on the first floor of Gay's Arcade off the Adelaide Arcade. He named it after Gordy, his miniature schnauzer of seven years, which tells you the register the place operates in. A fresh, tightly curated shop in a historic CBD arcade, a good sign of a scene still throwing up new rooms
