Derek Madison's shop on Dundas West stays open until four in the morning on Fridays and Saturdays, which is not a gimmick - it is aimed squarely at touring DJs who have just come off a set and have nowhere to go, and it works. The front shelves are cheap and the deeper racks reward the kind of digging that only happens at that hour: sample-based records, early two-thousands R&B, and things that are hard to name. The only shop in the directory whose opening hours are its editorial position.
