Hollow Bone Records was established in 2015, the end of a long-held regret for an owner who has collected albums and compact discs since buying KISS Destroyer at the age of five, spent over twenty years in corporate sales, and finally quit to open his own shop, modelled on the little Chicago store called The Sound Booth he haunted in the late nineties. It has since grown into one of the coolest shops for record fans in the area, trusted by over 13,000 customers, and has taken part in Record Store Day and Black Friday Record Store Day since its first Black Friday event in 2015. The genre wall is deep: prog, psych, glam, garage and blues rock, heavy metal, punk and hardcore, new wave, grunge, indie, hard bop and free jazz, jazz funk, classic country and Americana, hip hop, classic and neo-soul, reggae, classical, dance and electronic, folk and singer-songwriter, soundtracks and spoken word.
