Hot Wax has been going since 1978, which makes it the oldest record shop in Calgary, and it is here at all because Eddie Dalrymple and his partner took it over rather than let it fade out. That is worth recording plainly: most shops of that vintage close when the owner stops, and the handful that do not are the ones somebody decided to catch. Nearly fifty years on 10th Street NW.
