Isaac Slusarenko opened Jackpot on Hawthorne Boulevard in October 1997 on the principle that the music matters, dealing in new and used LPs, CDs, DVDs and collectables. A second Portland shop followed downtown in 2001, across the Willamette, and a record label under the same name in 2004. In 2015 the business took on 125,000 used records in a single purchase, one of the largest record buys in American retail history.
