Jamarico - trading as Jama Music now - has been an independent record shop in Zurich for over forty-five years, which makes it one of the oldest in the country. It started as a record shop with clothing alongside; in the eighties it set up a reggae distribution business, opened several smaller shops, and put on concert series bringing international bands to the city. Today it sells vinyl across alternative, pop, rock, metal, punk, electronica, hip-hop, soul, funk and jazz. No exact founding year is published anywhere we could verify
