Jazzy Sport is a label, a DJ crew, a distributor and a shop, started by Taro Kesen - the name comes from what he reckons jazz and sport have in common, which is improvising under pressure. It began in Udagawacho in Shibuya, at the densest concentration of record shops anywhere, and the main shop is now in Meguro; this is the Shimokitazawa outpost, opened in 2015. Records, apparel and a dance studio share the building. The buying runs Afro-pop, disco, hip-hop and jazz, with books, eyewear and clothing along the shelves. The label side has been releasing steadily since Budamunk in 2008
