Gordon and Janis shut their Napier CBD shop in September 2020 after 43 years in retail, and now trade online and out of a home store at 17 Akaroa Road, Poraiti, open 10 to 3 daily, from noon on Tuesdays, closed Sunday. The pitch is hard-to-find New Zealand records and vinyl rarities, with a comprehensive collection of new vinyl and thousands of pre-loved records, restocked regularly. Every used record is personally checked, thoroughly cleaned on a VPI record cleaning machine and rebagged in new inner and outer sleeves. The genre index is enormous, taking in acid jazz, bluegrass and krautrock at one end and shoegaze, symphonic metal and trip hop at the other. They ship worldwide and specialise in rarities, collectibles and NZ artists.
