Kristina was started by three people who had spent years together behind the counter of a well-known London second-hand shop, in a former estate agents on Stoke Newington Road. They wanted a name with some mystery that was not macho, and named it after someone. The stock is new and second-hand and deliberately not the record shop canon - obscure records running from hardcore to rockabilly - with a coffee bar alongside. It moved to Homerton in August 2019.
