Matéria Prima is Porto's oldest record shop, opened by Paulo Vinhas, Miguel Sá and Jorge Pereira and going for the best part of three and a half decades - it began in a basement on the same street and is now a large shop on Rua Miguel Bombarda, the city's gallery quarter. Its mission, in its own words, is to make the most innovative, experimental and adventurous music reach a wider audience, and the stock reflects it: vinyl, CDs, cassettes, books and comics, weighted to the obscure.
