First opened in 1976 under the name Samir Fouad, Mazzika Zaman is today owned and operated by Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim, working out of a first-floor room in the Masri Towers in Zamalek. Stock rotates at around 15,000 records at any given time, and the things to dig for are vintage gramophones, jazz and Egyptian pop.
