Mono has sold records on Freiburg's Gartenstrasse for more than forty years. It became Mono Schallplatten under a new owner in 1982, passed to two electronica specialists in 1997 who kept the name, and was set to close for good at the end of January 2005 when the current owner took it over on the spot and reopened that February as Mono Tontraeger. Records and other formats, online and over the counter, with the shop kept deliberately small and personal.
