Mr Bongo started as a shop on Berwick Street in London in 1989, shut the counter in 2003 to concentrate on the label, and opened again in Brighton at the end of 2016 - so this is a record shop run by a reissue label rather than the other way round. The specialism is Brazilian and African music, the areas the label has spent three decades reissuing, alongside soul, jazz and disco. Gloucester Road, and worth the walk up from the front.
