Music Bizarre has been trading on Magellan Street in Lismore, northern New South Wales, for more than 20 years. David Lacey and Marcus Bowden set it up and hired Deborah Ray as bookkeeper in the early years; Marcus moved on in 1998, Deborah became David's business partner for the next 16, and when David retired she took over as sole owner. The shop's own description of itself is a rough diamond in a seam of coal.
