Music Fear Satan started in 2004 as an online shop for hardcore and metal and took a physical shopfront near Bastille in 2010, at 4 bis Rue Richard Lenoir. The name is a play on Mogwai's "Mogwai Fear Satan", which sets the tone accurately: doom, death and black metal, noise rock, sludge, emo and psychedelic garage, with indie records turning up alongside. It runs a label of its own with around fifty releases, and sells CDs as seriously as vinyl - which in this corner of music is the difference between a real stock and a token one.
