Music & Video Exchange has been buying and selling in London since 1967, when it traded as the Record & Tape Exchange, which makes it one of the oldest independent record shops in the city. The model has always been second-hand and trade-in: vinyl, CDs, books, comics, DVDs and clothing. At the turn of the millennium Notting Hill Gate carried at least three separate branches - rock and pop, soul and dance, and classical - alongside the video, clothes and book shops. The business now runs five shops across Notting Hill and Greenwich.
