Near Mint Haarlem has been dealing curated vintage goods from the archives since 2024: records, books, magazines, tapes, art, ceramics and interior finds, in one of the coziest streets of Haarlem's old city centre. It was founded in the summer of 2024 by Rogier Oostlander, Rush Hour buyer, former editor-in-chief of BG Magazine and the man behind the Funky Harlem record stores, with beauty, fashion and lifestyle editor and stylist Enith Oostlander. The record sections tell you what kind of digger runs it: jazz, wave and postpunk, soul and funk, electronic and avant-garde, pop and rock, reggae, Africa and Maghreb, Brazil, hip-hop, Detroit, Chicago, techno, electro and house. Recent arrivals have run from Cosey Fanni Tutti and Joy Division to Egyptian Lover, Arthur Verocai and Berlin museum field recordings of Nubian and Hamar music.
