Rob Frith had only ever sold records at swap meets when British Columbia's construction industry collapsed in the early eighties and he took a chance on a shop, opening Neptoon on Fraser Street in January 1981. It moved to Main Street about twenty years ago and is Vancouver's oldest independent record shop, well past forty years now. It runs a serious reissue label alongside the racks.
